About Us

EUROPEAN CONTEXT

The European Cultural Capital event (ECOC) is arguably one of the most successful EU cultural programmes, attracting increasing interest from policy makers, academics and the media every year. 2017 celebrates the 32 anniversary of ECOC whose objectives are to:

- Highlight the richness and diversity of cultures in Europe;

- Celebrate the cultural features Europeans share;

- Increase European citizens' sense of belonging to a common cultural area;

- Foster the contribution of culture to the development of cities

SCHOOLS' RATIONALE 

The school should help students to realize their belonging to the culture of the people to which they belong and to respect other peoples' culture. Through kind of education we will remove racist and xenophobic mentality, forming young people open minded and willing to meet other cultural values; they must keep the inheritance that they received it from their parents, being proud of these values and to transmit them to their descendents

Project's AIM is to develop our students' sense of belonging to their cultural roots, to help them understand and respect other cultures, breaking down stereotypes, discovering common bonds, being aware of their common European citizenship by theoretical information and practical activities in school, community and abroad.

 

OBJECTIVES:

1.improve the knowledge of different local cultures of Europe by producing sustainable modern materials that preserve our cultural identity

2. improve knowledge of European languages

3. improve computer and Internet communications skills 

4. create networks between European schools for experience exchange, cooperation for future projects.

 

TARGET GROUP

- pupils from 10 - 15 years old. 

 

ACTIVITIES and METHODOLOGY

We set up 6 CLUBS for the subjects (1 teacher +10 students in each club) and other 2 Clubs (Foreign languages and IT with 1 teacher + 5 pupils each). So, the work-teams of each school will have 8 teachers +70 pupils. They will make project's products will be attractive, complex and sustainable for students and school. The Clubs will produce their materials and will send them to the school team responsible for the E-magazine (“UNESCO patrimony”, “Traditional art crafts“,“Local folklore“,“History“,“Local costumes, music and dance“,“Traditional gastronomy”). 

In the project will be elaborates 6 E-magazines using PREZI Program, Poster, Flyer, Brochure, Project's Calendar and DVD with all materials in project.

We will also publish the project's activities in project's Webstie, Blog, Facebook and eTwinning. 

We will organize an International Seminar " The impact of the European project in our schools and communities", an International  Workshop "United in cultural diversity", 2 International Exhibitions "Local folklore" and "Traditional gastronomy" and other debates.

7. FOREIGN LANGUAGES CLUB - here will be translates articles and elaborated mini dictionary for the L/T/TA.

8. TECHNOLOGY CLUB will:

-Search web-materials for theoretical classes

-Organize soft-ware courses to develop ICT skills

-Create Web-site, Blog, eTwinning and Facebook accounts of the project and running it

-Video conferences with partner students and teachers 

-Matching students with their peers with partner students, provide communication tools (forums, social media)
